Shopping in Bangkok

We took an overnight bus from Chiang Mai to Bangkok, where we headed to our hotel before exploring the shopping metropolis of Bangkok.  We spent hours exploring the massive malls of Siam Paragon, going to the movies and shopping nearly every inch of the massive MBK mall (pictured above).  We were exhausted after all of our shopping but found some awesome bargains.

We did manage to drag ourselves away from the malls to have dinner with Reuben’s friends Graham and Nok who we had a lot of fun catching up with.  We also had lunch at Munjai with Lish from UNOH and learned about some of the awesome projects happening in the slums of Bangkok.  If you are in Bangkok, check out Munjai cafe for a business that is making a real difference.

Thile we were there, Bangkok was actually undergoing protests between the Red Shirts and the Yellow Shirts.  We didn’t see any signs of protesting but we did realise our fashion choices may have been inadvertently political one of the days we were there!

Did you enjoy the movie? I went to see it the other day with Libby – likely to be my one movie outing for the next 12 months, so pretty exciting 😀
