Yosemite National Park

Two days after we wrecked our car, we headed off in a rental car to Yosemite National Park. Our original plan had been to camp nearby for two nights, but we decided to just make the best of the time that we had in Yosemite. After waiting in a queue for half an hour just to get in the park, we drove to the Mariposa Sequoia Grove and walked past giant sequoias to the California Tunnel Tree, where you can walk right through the tree.  We were both moving pretty slowly as I had a sore foot, ankle, neck and back from the crash and Reuben had not been sleeping well, so we considered this walk a good achievement!

From the sequoias we headed up to the Yosemite Valley, stopping at the Tunnel View to enjoy the view of the whole valley.

From there we drove down the valley, pausing to walk to the Bridal Veil Falls, to stroll in the meadow and to enjoy the views.

We headed out of the park past the Tuolomne Meadow where we stopped to enjoy the view before driving to Nevada to stay the night on the way to Wyoming.

Your photos make me homesick for Yosemite! It’s one of my favourite national parks.
