Isla Mujeres

We spent three glorious nights on Isla Mujeres, a little island just half an hour away from Cancun. It is a much more chilled place than Cancun and much less crowded. We stayed in a condominium which was right by the beach and had a pool – perfect to do some cooking and mixing our own drinks!

Sunset from our room

We spent lots of time on the beautiful Playa del Norte, swimming and sunbathing. We also walked to the other side of the island (it took about ten minutes, it is a very narrow island!)

Sandcastle - not made by us!

We had drinks at the swing bar and watched the sunset on the beach.

Snacks on the beach

We hired bikes and biked down to the south end of the island, stopping at the turtle research farm. The bike ride was about16km round trip – good to balance out all the food and drink!

I had an amazing massage on the beach – so relaxing to hear the waves!

This was such an amazing place, so relaxing and beautiful – we feel so lucky to have been to this island.

I notice there is a recurring theme around eating and drinking …

If you drink at the swing bar, does that make you a swinger? Seriously, how do you swing and drink simultaneously? Seems dangerous to me 🙂
