Our second day on the trip began with a stop at the Arbol de Piedra – the Stone Tree. There were all kinds of cool stone formations here.
Following that, we drove past four more lakes – Laguna Onda, Laguna Hedionda, Laguna Chiarcota and Laguna Canapa – before stopping for lunch at Laguna Negra. The views were stunning here and we saw more flamingos on the drive.
In the afternoon we stopped at San Cristobal to see their church, which was moved from the hill it formerly occupied when a company wanted the land!
Our last stop for the day was at the Cementerio de Trenes – a cemetery for trains that has been turned into a sort of playground/tourist spot. We then headed to the town of Uyuni where we stayed the night.

Two blog posts at once! I am overwhelmed. Love the landscape! The train cemetery… well, I guess they have to go somewhere, and why not the altiplano?
