Las Vegas, Nevada

We spent three nights in Las Vegas, staying at the Luxor Hotel. The Luxor had an Egyptian theme and our room was actually on the side of a pyramid, with sloped windows.

Vegas was pretty crazy – both days we were there we went walking on the Strip to see some of the different hotels and casinos.  We mixed up our walks with swimming and playing on the 1 penny slot machines (they will bring you free drinks as long as one person is gambling – even on the 1 penny machines!)

Walking to see the different hotels is really fun – a lot of them have different themes and things to do there.  The Strip is about 3km long, and our hotel was at one end – so we walked at least 18km just exploring over the two days. Some of the highlights were:

The live flamingos at the Flamingo Hotel. (Not sure how much fun this is for the flamingos…)
